Here’s how to do it:
Materials Needed:
- Blank mini baseball helmets (in team colors if possible)
- Cricut or other vinyl cutting machine- ( I love my Cricut Joy Extra)
- Cricut Permanent Smart Vinyl
- Transfer tape
- Weeding tool
- Rubbing alcohol + cloth (for prepping the helmet)
Steps:
- Clean each helmet with rubbing alcohol to make sure the vinyl sticks well.
- Design your team logo or each player’s name in Cricut Design Space. If you want to keep it simple, just do initials, jersey numbers, or the team name.
- Cut your vinyl, weed the design, and use transfer tape to apply it to each helmet.
- Let it sit for a bit (up to 1hr) to make sure the vinyl is adhered properly.
You can customize all the helmets for every player on the team, or just create a set with the team name and year to celebrate the season. Bonus: these make awesome take-home keepsakes people will want!
This project took about 1 hour and cost around $25 (This is for the cost of the mini helmets and the white permanent vinyl).
